mm444 self portrait. 2009. paris, france.Martin McCreadie is a graphic designer, multimedia artist, and electronic musician who currently lives in Austin, Texas where he spends much of his time making and consuming images and sounds. Martin is part of the electronic rock trio, The Nimbus, and a voting member of the Recording Academy.

He began drawing at the age of 3, studied at The Glassell Junior School at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts in the summers of 1989 and 1990 to supplement art studies at school, and won awards at UIL competitions for Art and Theater, as well as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Program competition; all while holding membership in the National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and the International Thespian Society.

In 2000, Martin received a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film at The University of Texas at Austin while focusing on audio, experimental film production and new media. This experience offered the opportunity to study under several progressive artists, including Jenn Garrison, Bill Lundberg, Samantha Krukowski, and Sandy Stone.

His artistic influences range from the classic works of Alphonse Mucha, Max Ernst, M C Escher, and Salvador Dali to modern artists such as Storm ThorgersonDavid Carson, Takashi Murakami, P R Brown, Tara McPherson, 3D, Shepard Fairey, and Banksy.

Besides making graphics and art and playing music, Martin also spends time as a live audio engineer. He has mixed J.G Thirwell, Alessandro Cortini (of Nine Inch Nails), David J (of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets), Zola Jesus, Trust, Richard Devine, <PIG>, Yoshiki (of Japan X), Feathers, 8MM, Jambinai, Braid, Cameron Avery, Knifight, SURVIVE, Adrian H and the Wounds, Rosegarden Funeral Party, NITE, Boy Friend, Total Unicorn, Awen, The Flametrick Subs, Residual Kid, Soriah, Chant, The Bellwether Syndicate, Bloody Knives, Exit, Douglas McCarthy (of Nitzer Ebb), Led Er Est, Shakey Graves, Dead Tree Duo, Sun Salutation, The Beat Dolls, Green Jelly and many more.
