artist: GIFT CULTURE
title: TEMPLE AT DAWN
year: 2004
notes: The sixth release by Artificial Music Machine is a downtempo odyssey inspired by burn culture. The title of the album gave way to the inevitable use of photos of the Temple of Honor, created and destroyed by David Best at Burning Man 2003. The photos used in the layout were all taken by AMM co-founder Thomas Fang at the event. To emphasis the beauty and emotion of the temple’s temporary existence and ultimate destruction, the cover features the temple at dawn while pictures inside the package highlight the temple as it burned.
