notes: The initial influence on this design was the propaganda art of China’s Cultural Revolution. In line with the title of the album, a faceless socio-political entity, the Society for the Technocratic Advancement of the New Divine (S.T.A.N.D.), was developed as the distributor of this piece of social propaganda. At this point, I also began to place more emphasis on the design as what it truly is, a product. Details that would otherwise be overlooked found prominent roles in the layout as artistic elements; blurring the line between product design and art. Unlike my previous digital album designs, I took this design a step further by creating actual art pieces for each panel set. Large scale printing on misprinted pages of the New York Times, serigraphy, and collage were incorporated into the final product which was subsequently scanned back into the computer environment to create the press ready files.
